At the recommendation of my midwife, I hired a doula. By God’s grace, that doula was Ashley! I was able to have the VBAC I so desperately wanted, and Ashley played an important part in that. If you bring Ashley along with you on your pregnancy/labor/postpartum journey (which you should), you’ll be both educated and supported. She is gifted in listening to and understanding your desires. In our experience, she knew what to say (and what not to say) and when. I say “our experience” because not only did she provide needed support for me, but also for my husband. This was very important to us in overcoming some of the trauma from my first labor and delivery experience. We are so blessed by our little girl and her birth experience. We are thankful for the role Ashley played in that!
